Friday 25th May 2018, 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM @ Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, 4 Merches Places, Cardiff CF11 6RD
‘Voices of Young African Women‘ is all about developing young African women as leaders of tomorrow and celebrating diverse African cultures in Wales. To celebrate Africa Day, the event led by Tuwezeshe fellows from Wales will bring to the fore concepts, ethos and values covered as part of Tuwezeshe Akina Dada.
Our aim is to improve the rights and amplify the actions of East African girls and young women in their fight against all forms of gender based violence. Our vision is to foster a new generation of young women leaders who are capable activists and advocates claiming their rights and freedoms:
- Mentoring and Leadership Development Training
- Harnessing the Power of Social Media
- Utilising the Power of Knowledge within the diaspora community and across East African regions
The event will showcase some of the projects planned and delivered by Tuwezeshe fellows who took part on the leadership training last year and raise key questions on how we can empower future leaders. Along with Tuwezeshe fellows, we will have leading women from the community who are mentoring our fellows and guest speakers from across Wales supporting BAME, young people and women.
