Get Ready For The ‘Preston Jazz and Improvisation Festival’

6th – 10th June 2018, 10:00 AM @ various Venues

JAZZ LOVERS will be treated to a mix of exciting events in June celebrating the huge range of styles and sub-genres that Jazz music and the art of improvisation encompass.
The ‘Preston Jazz and Improvisation Festival‘ features an international cast, ranging across jazz, funk, soul, hip-hop and more. And in a fitting finale to the festival organisers are proud to welcome Courtney Pine as their headline act.
Standing out as a true trailblazer in the British jazz community, Pine embodies the dramatic transformation of UK jazz over the past three decades. His revolutionary, multi-instrument talent has inspired a new generation of musicians to broaden their own styles, bringing jazz to wider and more diverse audiences.
Winner of a Mercury Music Prize and Gold Badge Award, and now honoured with an OBE and CBE for services to music, with 16 studio albums to his credit, Pine continues to tour the globe with his award-winning band.
His ‘Black Notes From The Deep’ was released to critical acclaim in 2017, featuring guest vocals from Omar bringing together two of the UK’s finest jazz and soul talents.
Pine and Omar, will perform on Sunday, June 10th from 7:00 PM – 11:00 PM at 53 Degrees in Preston. Tickets can be purchased at eventbrite
