Chineke! – the brainchild of renowned bassist, educator and activist Chi-chi Nwanoku OBE – is Europe’s first black and minority ethnic classical orchestra. A sell-out debut at the South Bank and an amazing Prom in August 2017 were followed by the reopening concert of the Queen Elizabeth Hall in April 2018.
Here Chi-chi brings us the debut of an exceptional new chamber group with a programme that includes Beethoven’s ever-popular Septet, a charming duet for cello and double bass by Boccherini, two beautiful movements from a rarely-performed Haydn Divertimento, a virtuoso arrangement of Strauss’s ‘Till Eulenspiegel’ and a quartet by the eighteenth century Parisian composer Joseph Boulogne.
Tickets costs £20 from eventbrite.
