Fashion is a language. Throughout the centuries, it has been used to define oneself.
Join us we look at how fashion has worked to cultivate, define and shape the Black Diaspora with three fashion historians. They will be sharing some of the most iconic looks over the past century and how that has translated and worked to define blackness.
The BCA will be hosting a series ‘Bridging The Atlantic: Conversation On Blackness’, with a range of dynamic speakers, to provide a forum for different communities from the Black Atlantic to talk and discuss the historical context of blackness. The series will include fashion, art, social and political activism, and culture. Our speakers represent a large portion of the black diaspora USA, UK, Trinidad, Jamaica Brazil, and Ghana
