Playwright, novelist and Trustee Emerita of the British Museum, Bonnie Greer OBE joins internationally renowned broadcaster, writer and campaigner June Sarpong OBE in a lively and thought-provoking conversation about what Greer calls, ‘The Era of Reclamation’, and her allegiance to, ‘The Boat’.

Bonnie and June will explore the challenges, controversies and debates facing public organisations in the 21st century; the need for greater workforce diversity and the importance of developing new creative talent which reflects our multicultural nation.

Recently appointed as the BBC’s new Head of Creative Diversity, June Sarpong will also discuss her vision for greater representation throughout media and culture and how cultural organisations can effect long-lasting change in society.

This event forms part of the series ‘The Era of Reclamation’ curated by Bonnie Greer and taking place at the British Museum throughout January and February 2020. The series provides a challenging, thought-provoking and radical forum for debate around one of the most vital issues facing museums and cultural spaces in the UK and globally, Reclamation; the ownership not only of ourselves and our identities but of what we believe belongs to us, as well as wider questions of identity, belonging, diversity and interconnection.
