“None of my books is just about race. They’re about people”
Andrea Levy was a British writer whose acknowledgement of and pride in her blackness and Jamaican history encouraged her to begin writing.
Focusing on the text Six Stories and an Essay we will analyse and discuss Levy’s navigation through cultural, national and racial identities, as well as the negotiation surrounding what it means to be human.
