#BAMEOver: Live Debate

Inc Arts is the collective voice for ethnically diverse people working in the arts. We champion the contractual, economic and creative rights for the UK’s ethnically diverse workforce.
#BAMEOver. BAME. BAMER. BME. Many find the term offensive, inaccurate and not of our choosing
We are tired of the acronyms. If you have skin in the game join us for a live debate on what term to use instead of the term ‘BAME’.

We’ll be joined by speakers including actor and activist Lucy Sheen, Dope Black Dads, Belgrade Theatre Coventry and a host of others who will share their experiences – and their thoughts on how we call us.
We’re then taking the results to parliament and to wider media to lobby for change of use in government and media statistics.
If the tired old acronym applies to you, have your say.
This debate is only for Asian, ethnically diverse and Black people to attend. It’s for us to decide on our own terms of engagement.
If you can’t join on the day and you want to have your say – take our #BAMEOver survey (if you haven’t already).
