One of this year’s biggest theatrical successes, Red Pitch by Tyrell Williams, a fast-paced, sharp-edged, and powerful story about gentrification and the impact of this relentless change on London’s communities.
Once it received both audience and critical acclaim, the production quickly sold out. Now, having been filmed in front of a specially invited audience of local community youth groups there is an opportunity for those who missed out to watch the show online from 9 -14 May.
Three lifelong friends Omz, Bilal, and Joey are playing football. Like they always have. Living out dreams of football stardom. Beyond their football pitch, local shops are closing, old flats are being demolished as new flats shoot up, some residents struggle to stay while others rush to leave. When a small football pitch has been a home from home, a place you’ve laughed, fought, and forged friendships, what happens when it’s under threat?
The cast is Kedar Williams-Stirling (Sex Education), Emeka Sesay (Pretty Red Dress), and Francis Lovehall (Small Axe), and the production is directed by the Bush Theatre’s Associate Artistic Director Daniel Bailey.
Red Pitch-Online is streaming worldwide, so you can watch it from anywhere. The performance will begin promptly at 2.45 pm or 7.45 pm. The film will be available to watch on-demand for 48 hours from the date and time selected.
Each online performance is a filmed live show that will be streamed to audiences. It can be watched on a device or web browser via Google Chromecast or on Apple TV, Android TV, or Amazon Fire TV.
Tickets priced from £10 are available from the Bush Theatre
