Chadwick Boseman: Portrait of an Artist launches on Netflix this Saturday 17 April for a limited 30-day window.
Portrait of an Artist is an intimate look at the Oscar-nominated actor’s incomparable artistry, and the acting process which informed his transformative performances. Viola Davis, Denzel Washington, Spike Lee, George C. Wolfe, Branford Marsalis, Phylicia Rashad and more take us behind the scenes to explore Boseman’s extraordinary commitment to his craft.

Boseman passed away in 2020 as a result of colon cancer, which he had been diagnosed with in 2016. The actor was best-known for his roles in Black Panther, Da 5 Bloods and Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.
For the latter performance, he posthumously won a Golden Globe and SAG award, and earned a Best Actor Oscar nomination. He also played such real-life figures as James Brown in ‘Get On Up’ and Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall in ‘Marshall’.
