Following a succession of award-winning productions together, she reunites with her long-time collaborator, director Greg Hersov, to bring us Shakespeare’s great tragedy about power, politics and desire, reimagined for today.
The show was scheduled to run from the July 4th – August 22nd 2020, but had to be postponed due to COVID.
Cush Jumbo makes her Young Vic debut, breaking the reign of white men to play the young Dane.
Famous around the world for playing Lucca Quinn in hit sitcom The Good Wife and spin-off series The Good Fight, the British actor also has proven clout on stage and extensive experience playing Shakespeare at the Globe and Manchester’s Royal Exchange Theatre.
Jumbo’s magnetic Mark Antony in the Donmar’s 2012 all-female Julius Caesar scored an Olivier nomination and her self-penned one-woman play Josephine won an Emerging Talent Award and a transatlantic transfer.
This Hamlet reunites Jumbo with director Greg Hersov, who she worked with to great success in As You Like it and Pygmalion in Manchester.
