HAART Part 2: Seeing Sounds – African Art Exhibition

10:00 am - 10:00 pm | 01 October 2019
Copeland Gallery | £7

[ngg src=”galleries” display=”basic_slideshow”]Following the success of the House of African Art (HAART) launch in March 2019, we are delighted to announce our second exhibition.

Titled ‘Seeing Sounds’, the exhibition will explore the connections between sounds and visual artwork. Whether that’s how sounds and music influence the imagination and therefore creative output; artwork which makes or depicts sounds through their fluidity, or which simply create a feeling of being transported to a vibrant, bustling setting.

Seeing Sounds will exhibit works from a selection of visual artists: Derrick Ofosu Boateng, Euan Roberts, Jumoke SanwoMoufouli Bello and Williams Chechet.

The week-long event features evening talks, spoken word and live musicians (think jazz, Afrobeats and soul).

Please Note:

  • Entrance during the day and to the opening event on Tuesday is free and open to the public
  • Entrance to the private evening events on Thursday (talks + poetry night) and Saturday (listening party + live music night) require a ticket
  • Tickets are £7 per evening (Thursday or Saturday)
  • £12 tickets grant you 7 days unlimited access to all evening events and daytime access.

Register your interest and purchase your tickets from eventbrite

The exhibition runs from Tuesday 1st – Monday 7th October 2019.
