Professor Kehinde Andrews is Professor of Black Studies at Birmingham City. Kehinde is an academic, activist and author whose books include Back to Black: Retelling Black Radicalism for the 21st Century (2018) and Resisting Racism: Race, Inequality and the Black Supplementary School Movement (2013).
Kehinde led the development of the Black Studies degree and is director of the Centre for Critical Social Research; founder of the Harambee Organisation of Black Unity; and co-chair of the Black Studies Association. His areas of expertise include Race, racism and ethnicity; Black Studies; Ethnography; Community activism and Scholar activism. Kehinde has written many articles for the Guardian and Independent
Taking place as part of the British Politics module, this event is open to anyone who would like to hear this eminent speaker and writer discuss race in the UK and in the current political climate, changes in views related to race over the last 15 years and the changes needed to move forward over the next 15.
