According to the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, 44% of Black Mothers reported depressive symptoms compared to 31% of their white counterparts, due to lack of finances for quality childcare, single parenthood, lack of social support, and limited access to adequate medical care.
This hour-long event is the first in a series that will explore mental wellness for postpartum Black mothers.
Join us as we explore the nuances of postpartum wellness for Black women, featuring a presentation and Q&A session with Washington D.C. based psychiatrist, Dr. Colette A. Poole-Boykin.
