Soundcrash Presents: Beat Horizon – Beats, Bass & Hip Hop Festival

2:00 pm - 11:30 pm | 18 January 2020
O2 Academy Brixton

After the success of the inaugural Beat Horizon at Printworks London last year, festival organisers SoundCrash have announced the very good news that Beat Horizon’s second coming will include trips to Bristol and Manchester in January 2020.

With a lineup that pays homage to the forefathers, as well as the greats of today, Beat Horizon is bringing together some of the best underground artists from the UK and US. Almost every act on the lineup could take a headline slot, with Yasiin Bey (AKA Mos Def), Black Star’s Talib Kweli, Sampa the Great, drum and bass’ MBE-holding Goldie and Bristol’s own Drum and Bass legend Roni Size making up less than half of the huge bill.

Beat Horizon will bring a beautiful collision of East and West Coast hip hop, London vs Bristol Drum and Bass, dubstep meets dub, and Swindle – the production genius that fits no description.

SoundCrash and Beat Horizon director Rob Waller tells us: ‘The concept was to bring together a historic and wide range of artists within beats, hip hop and bass music. The variety is both geographical, bringing US and UK acts together, and also in the range of classic and newer breakthrough artists.

‘In my experience if you like drum and bass you, probably like hip hop too and vice versa, so it keeps it interesting. I really wanted to make it a once in a lifetime collection of artists. People that would normally headline in their own right, therefore making Beat Horizon totally unmissable!”
