You’ve purchased and even read a number of books on racism, privilege and abolition. You’ve participated in a few protests and have made multiple donations to groups locally and around the country. You know you need to do more of the hard work to dismantle systemic racism, but you don’t know what the next step would be.
Join Chelsea Troy and Caren Young as we explore psychological safety, having difficult conversations, understanding the structure of racism (vs personalising it), allyship, moving towards becoming an accomplice and how to practice anti-racism in all aspects of your life.
Please note: this is not designed to be Anti-Racism 101. We’ll expect you to know the basics – racism does exist, privilege is real, black on black crime isn’t more of a problem and the cops are not here to serve and protect everyone.
This seminar will be online through Zoom and will be a combination of lecture, small group scenario and discussion.
If you cannot afford the ticket fee, email marlena@appearworks.com. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.
