George is joined by musicians and talent from London’s spoken word scene to kick off the opening weekend of the London Literature Festival. Together they bring to life his inventive anthology Part of a Story That Started Before Me, which takes readers on a thought-provoking poetical journey through Black British history.
The event is also inspired by George the Poet’s memoir Track Record, an engrossing and deeply personal account of his search for purpose.
George the Poet is a London-born spoken word performer of Ugandan heritage. His innovative brand of musical poetry has won him critical acclaim both as a recording artist and a social commentator.
