Panaramic Entertainment: Okiojo’s Chronicles
I was recently contacted and am pleased to partner with Tunji Anjorin, the Editor-in-Chief of Panaramic Entertainment a media company based in Nigeria – to showcase and promote their range of comics.
Their premier product ‘Okiojo’s Chronicles’ is a series of historical comics, aimed at promoting African history and culture starting in Nigeria.
Okiojo means ‘wise all-knowing man’ in Itsekiri. The series follows Nigerian historical figures and events, carefully selected from various ethnic groups in Nigeria, developed into comic books format available in digital and print.
In Panaramic’s literary body of work, they have profiled 7 out of Nigeria’s 36 states:
- Oduduwa (Osun)
- 897 (Edo)
- Queen Amina (Kaduna)
- Nri Kingdom (Anambra)
- Eyo (Lagos)
- Mary Slessor (Calabar)
- Jaja of Opobo (Rivers)
This range of diverse storytelling is a much-needed leap forward in innovation and disruptive action towards promoting and encouraging literacy from a Nigerian perspective, by providing relevant and engaging historical and cultural knowledge.
Panaramic Entertainment has kindly provided a FREE digital copy of Okiojo’s Chronicles Vol.3 – Queen Amina Part I (The Seed) (1) for you to read, share and enjoy!
