Mayor of London: New Community Grants and Funding Opportunities
The Greater London Authority distributes grants to support communities and civil society organisations. Below you will find grants that are both currently open and grants that will be available soon.
Mayor’s Resilience Fund
The Resilience Fund is the Mayor’s £1million innovation programme to support London’s businesses and community groups to emerge stronger from the current coronavirus crisis, and to ensure the capital is better prepared for future challenges.
Grants of up to £30,000 will be available to support the design and testing of innovations that:
- Build digital and data tools to help London emerge from the current crisis, and fare better during future stresses and shocks.
- Help small businesses and community organisations to adapt and diversify.
- Create positive social change that addresses London’s major stresses – from inequality to food insecurity and poor health and wellbeing.
Businesses, social enterprises and community groups will be matched with innovators who will help them find new ways of delivering their products and services to keep up with the accelerated pace of change after the pandemic and to improve their own resilience to future shocks.
Deadline to submit a challenge is December 14 2020. Find out more about the fund here
Civil Society Roots Incubator
The Civil Society Roots Incubator programme is a grant award and capacity building programme for equity focused community-led partnerships.
We will fund partnerships led by and for groups who have been disproportionately affected by Covid-19, and the structural drivers of this disproportionate impact who are aiming to meet one of the following objectives:
- Raise unheard Londoners voices to ensure they can participate more fully in all aspects of community life, lead London’s renewal and bring about change
- Increase feelings of belonging and/or address social isolation and loneliness
- Increase access to support, services and mutual aid
All grantees will join a 6-month incubator programme, which will develop both the partnerships and the skills of the individuals involved, involving a curriculum and bespoke support depending on the needs of the partnership.
Deadline for applications is 5pm on 26 January 2021.

Make London
Make London gives you the opportunity to pitch new ideas – big or small – to fund community-led projects to help your local area recover from the COVID-19 crisis.
This programme delivers on the London Recovery Board’s ‘Building Strong Communities’ and ‘High Streets for All’ mission objectives.
We want to support creative, locally-led proposals which bring people together, improve public spaces and support community hubs and high streets.
